If like me, you’ve pre-ordered a PS5 and you’re now sat eagerly awaiting it’s arrival on Thursday 19th November, you might be also sat staring at the telly box thinking you need an upgrade to experience the full power of your new purchase.
But, wait a second. You’ve just forked out £350-£450, plus games and accessories on the most anticipated piece of tech of the year. You want a PS5 ready 4K TV, but you don’t want to break the bank. Cue the mass searches for “budget PS5 TV“.
Well here at The Film Fella & Friends I’ve decided to help, since I too feel your pain.
First off, what do I mean by PS5 ready? And what is it you need to look for? Simply put, a cheap PS5 ready 4K TV needs to have some of the following features:
- HMDI 2.1
- 120Hz frame rate (HDMI 2.1 allows this)
- VRR (Freesync)
- Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM)
- Enhanced audio Return Channel (eARC)
- Quick Media Switching
- Dynamic HDR
- Quick Frame Transport
The key features you want, will be HDMI 2.1 and the ability to have a 120Hz frame rate experience. These are NOT mutually exclusive and it is where the difficulty in purchasing comes from. Not all HDMI 2.1 TVs can run at 120Hz frame rate. Some of the other features mentioned will be standard with these key ones on cheaper 4K TVs, but some may not have everything, so just bear that in mind.
With all that of the way, here are some of the best budget PS5 ready 4K TVs you can buy right now in the UK.
